Registration criteria

Admission rules

Applicants for admission to studies shall have a bachelor's, master's, engineer's diploma or other equivalent foreign document obtained in any field of study and present proof of proficiency in the use of the English language at a level of at least B2 (according to the classification of the Council of Europe). Admission criteria include motivation, academic qualifications, language skills, work and research experience. Practical experience in the field of humanitarian aid in governmental, non-governmental and international organizations and institutions is not required, but is additionally taken into account.

The studies are part of the NOHA Joint Master's Degree. The recruitment procedure is the same for candidates with a Polish and foreign diploma.

All applications for admission to studies must be submitted online at NOHA's website http://nohanet.org

The required documentation of application shall include:

  1. graduate diploma (certified copy); if the diploma is not in English, applicants should provide an official English translation of the diploma;
  2. Diploma Supplement or Transcript of Records; if not in English, candidates should provide an official English translation;
  3. Curriculum Vitae (according to the Europass template: http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/documents/curriculum-vitae);
  4. 2 letters of recommendation (in English);
  5. a document confirming that the graduate diploma entitles to apply for admission to further studies or to continue education in any type of higher education institution in the education system in which the institution issuing the document operates (with a translation into the language of the studies undertaken by candidate) - if such information is included in the supplement to the diploma, there is no need to provide a separate document.

Recruitment procedure:

  1. The NOHA consortium makes an initial preselection based on the fulfillment of formal requirements (application completeness), and then submits to the University of Warsaw applications of people who have declared the choice of the University of Warsaw as their home university.
  2. The Selection Committee conducts the recruitment procedure by assessing:

    a. academic qualifications (0-25 points);
    b. knowledge of foreign languages (0-10 points);
    c. professional and scientific experience (0-10 points);
    d. motivation to start studies (0-5 points).

  3. In the case of applicants for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, a separate scoring system is used, determined by the regulations of the European Commission.
  4. Based on the scores awarded by the Selection Committee, a ranking list is prepared.

 

Checking the candidates' competences to undertake studies conducted in the English language

The Selection Committee does not provide for an additional form of checking the competences of candidates to study in English.

The candidate is obliged to present a document confirming the knowledge of the English language at a level of at least B2.
