Registration criteria
Admission rules
Applies to candidates studying English philology in other universities.
Only transfer to the 2nd year of study is possible.
Admission on the basis of:
- grade point average obtained during the course of studies so far;
- number of courses/subjects that have to be taken additionally to compensate for curriculum differences.
Position in the ranking results from the grade point average; curriculum differences should not amount to more that 6 (six) courses/subjects.
Checking candidates' competence to undertake studies conducted in the English language
The rules of qualifying candidates from foreign and from Polish universities are the same.
A candidate has to hold a certificate proving competence in the English language at minimum C1 level.
Accepted certificates:
- Certificate in Advanced English / Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) / C1 Advanced issued by Cambridge Assessment English (previously Cambridge English Language Assessment and University of Cambridge ESOL examination)
- Certificate of Proficiency in English / Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) / C2 Proficiency issued by Cambridge Assessment English (previously Cambridge English Language Assessment and University of Cambridge ESOL examination)
- C1 Business Higher / Cambridge English: Business Higher (BEC Higher) issued by Cambridge Assessment English (previously Cambridge English Language Assessment and University of Cambridge ESOL examination)
- Certificate on the C1 or C2 level issued by University Council for the Coordination of Foreign Language Teaching and Language Proficiency Certification
- C1 exam conducted by the UW Institute of English Studies
- ECL Language Test level C1 (min. score 80), issued by European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages
- Edexcel ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Level 2 issued by Pearson
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic (min. score 64) issued by Pearson
- International English Language Testing System Academic (min. score 7) issued by International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (min. score 94) issued by Educational Testing Service (ETS)
- BA diploma in English Studies (English philology) on condition that the language of instruction during the studies was exclusively English
Candidates who do not hold a required certificate should take the exam in English (level C1) at the Institute of English Studies.
Deadlines
C1 Level English Exam: 18th of September, 2024, from 10 a.m. (exam will be conducted online via Kampus-rekrutacja)
Announcement of results: 24th of September, 2024
Reception of documents:
- I round: 25th-26th of September, 2024
- II round (in case of not fulfilling the limit during I round): 27th, 30th of September, 2024
