Description

 

The minimum number of persons admitted (within all paths of qualifications) to being the subject of study start:

The programme in political science provides a comprehensive and academic education to flexibly and effectively adapt to ever-changing conditions on the labour market. A first-cycle programme graduate should have the general knowledge to understand political phenomena and processes occurring on a global, regional, national and local scale and analyse relationships between political institutions, societies and individuals. They should know historical determinants and contemporary mechanisms governing political systems. A graduate should be able to employ their knowledge in their professional career and everyday life, with emphasis on adherence to ethical principles. They should be able to solve simple problems of professional nature, participate in teamwork, manage small teams executing orders and communicate with their environment as well as collect, hierarchise, process and relay information. A graduate should speak a foreign language and be able to use specialist language necessary to practice their profession. A graduate should be prepared for work in government and local government administration, political party structures, economic and social organisations, international institutions and organisations as well as the media (being able to competently operate in the new media environment) and education. A graduate should be prepared to undertake the graduate programme.

Admission rules

Any person who completed a secondary school in Poland or in another country is eligible for admission. The programme language is English; therefore, a candidate should speak English fluently enough to be able to study in this language.

Admission procedure for candidates with polish new maturity exam (since 2005)

Candidates are admitted on the basis of submission of required documents:

  1. a maturity diploma (a "new" Polish matura) (a copy of original document, certified by the University of Warsaw)
  2. an application for admission printed out from candidate’s individual registration account in the Candidate’s Registration System and signed up by the candidate
  3. an application for issuing student’s id printed out from candidate’s individual registration account in the Candidate’s Registration System
  4. a photocopy of an id (passport’s personal data page and page with visa), on the basis of which a candidate has created his/her registration account in the Candidate’s Registration System
  5. a written declaration to the regular payment of tuition fees
  6. a proof of application fee payment, in case of transfer abroad (upon registration)
  7. a stay legalisation in Poland (in case of foreigners)
  8. a certificate of proficiency in English (equivalent at least to the level B2) /in the case of a proper diploma, a language certificate is not required/ A list of diplomas / certificates of proficiency in English, accepted in the process of recruitment.

If the number of candidates exceeds a limit of places, candidates will be qualified on the basis of their GPA from all the maturity (secondary education) certificate subjects.

The final result is the number of points in the range of 0 to 100.

Minimum number of points required for qualification to studies: 35 pts

Candidates are admitted on the basis of submission of required documents:

  1. European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma (awarded to students who complete a European School) (a copy of original document, certified by the University of Warsaw)
  2. an application for admission printed out from candidate’s individual registration account in the Candidate’s Registration System and signed up by the candidate
  3. an application for issuing student’s id printed out from candidate’s individual registration account in the Candidate’s Registration System
  4. a photocopy of an id (passport’s personal data page and page with visa), on the basis of which a candidate has created his/her registration account in the Candidate’s Registration System
  5. a written declaration to the regular payment of tuition fees
  6. a proof of application fee payment, in case of transfer abroad (upon registration)

Admission procedure for candidates with foreign diplomas

Candidates are admitted on the basis of submission of required documents:

1)   a secondary school (maturity) certificate or another document, entitling to undertake university-level study in country in which the certificate / document was issued (a copy of original document, certified by the University of Warsaw)

a)   a legalisation / authorisation of above-mentioned documents (or apostille if the document was issued by an institution operating in the educational system in a country that was a member of the Hague Convention of 5th of October, 1961 abolishing the requirement of legalizing foreign official documents) read more

b)   original sworn translations into Polish language (or in special cases into English) of secondary school (maturity) certificate

c) certificate of recognition (nostrification) of secondary school (maturity) certificate, if applicable read more
