Programme of studies:
Studies in Psychology is a five-year master's academic programme in psychology conducted in English.
A unique programme of classes typically taking place in small groups and in an international environment provides the opportunity to acquire a universal education and a range of practical skills. Psychology in English taught at The University of Warsaw is multidirectional and interdisciplinary studies that develop an openness to various ideas, teach exploration and taking into account various types of argumentation.
Psychology programme of study is characterised by relative flexibility, which means that students, within certain limits, can shape their own schedule of classes and their own learning profile. This goal is achieved by providing a broad range of electives and specialisation courses in various areas of psychology to choose from.

Specializations
By the end of the third year of study, the students choose a specialisation from the four offered:
- Clinical psychology — path Psychotherapy
- Clinical psychology — path Neuropsychology and neuroscience
- Business psychology
- Experimental Social Psychology.
Important information
Classes are conducted typically in the Faculty of Psychology Building at ul. Stawki 5/7 in Warsaw, although some specialisation and optional classes may take place in external institutions such as hospitals or research institutes. The average size of course group is 20-25 people, with a total of over 150 students from 25 different countries studying simultaneously at WISP. This allows not only to acquire knowledge in an international and multicultural environment but also for personal contact with lecturers, which provides many opportunities for personal development. Both lecturers and administrative staff know the names of the students, which contributes to a pleasant and productive atmosphere.
Graduate's silhouette
The aim of the studies is to prepare future graduates to describe and explain the complex mechanisms of human functioning in the modern world.
The program of studies provides knowledge in the field of academic psychology and enables further professional development of graduates both in the area of scientific research and application activities. In addition, through everyday contact with students from around the world, graduates of English language courses acquire unique cultural competencies more and more desirable on the international labour market.
In the course of the programme, students gain thorough and reliable knowledge about various theoretical approaches explaining human behaviour and learn modern research and computational methods.
In addition, students acquire practical psychological and interpersonal skills, as well as learn how to plan empirical research, carefully analyse, correctly interpret, and present their results. A principal goal of education is to develop critical thinking skills and the ability to reflect on the analysed phenomena and processes, as well as the need to continuously improve knowledge and professional competence of the students.
Moreover, a fundamental task in shaping future psychologists is to develop interpersonal competencies, the ability to collaborate in a team and the ability to apply psychological knowledge in everyday life.
Graduates of “Psychology” receive the masters degree and professional title of a psychologist, which allows them to undertake work in various types of medical, educational, research or business institutions, etc. Graduates may pursue their education as part of third-cycle doctoral and post-graduate studies.

In order to verify whether candidates are able to make critical reflection about the text that they read, they will have to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of the concept mentioned in the book and formulate their own opinion providing reasonable arguments.
