Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the fastest-growing and most transformative fields in the world. AI is changing everything in business, government, and society. This course will help in transition for the future and ensure that business is well-positioned to reap the rewards of AI.

The postgraduate program "Artificial Intelligence for Executives" is an ideal course for leaders and managers who want to learn about the real-world application of AI and develop strategies to gain a competitive advantage. These studies will help its participants develop the basic skills necessary to navigate the world of AI and use this powerful technology.

This course will teach everything that is necessary to know about Generative AI, from its potential to transform the future of business to the current and future gaps, risks, and mitigators.

The University of Warsaw's AI for Executives program is delivered in hybrid format (online and in person) and is taught by industry leaders who are building and using AI today.

Candidates

The postgraduate studies "Artificial Intelligence for Executives" will be open to persons who have completed at least first-cycle studies, have at least five years of professional experience, including a minimum of three years of experience in a managerial position.

In addition, due to the fact that the course is conducted in English, the candidate is required to be fluent in written and spoken English, which is checked by an English language proficiency test.

The staff conducting classes at the postgraduate studies "Artificial Intelligence for Executives" are experts from the University of Warsaw, executives of companies dealing with AI technology, and practitioners who have implemented artificial intelligence in their daily operations.  World-renowned experts in the field of artificial intelligence will ensure a high level of knowledge for our students. The combination of technological know-how and business innovation is the guarantee of the success of our graduates:

• Jacek Cyranka, Ph.D. –  is an accomplished researcher specializing in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a focus on continuous models for forecasting and optimal control tasks.
• Jan Czarnocki – PhD student and scholarship holder at the IT and IP Law Center KU Leeuven in Belgium, lawyer, researcher specializing in IT protection, artificial intelligence and sensitive data.
• Andrzej Dragan, Ph.D. – obtained his doctorate and habilitation in the field of physical sciences at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw. In his research, prof. Dragan deals with, among others: general relativity, relativistic quantum information theory and quantum field theory in curved space-time.
• Agnieszka Dziewulska – PhD student at the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw, for over twenty years she has held managerial HR positions in global corporations i.e. KPMG (CEE), General Electric (GE), Hewlett Packard, IBM.
• Kacper Gradoń, Ph.D. – is an assistant professor at the Department of Forensic Science, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw.
• Colin W.P. Lewis, Ph.D. – is a specialist in artificial intelligence and data science. He holds leadership positions in world-renowned data analytics companies. Author of many scientific articles in the field of artificial intelligence and papers published in the Harvard Business Review.
• Andy McMahon, Ph.D. – expert in data analytics and machine learning, director of machine learning operations at NatWest – the 15th largest bank in Europe with 61,000 employees.
• Edyta Snakowska – Estorninho, PhD (c) – Attorney-at-law, Director of the Legal and Compliance Department at KPMG Polska, where she is responsible for legal and compliance issues.
• Joanna Tyrowicz, PhD – Professor at the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.  It examines the impact of technology on the labour market.
• Grażyna Wieczorkowska – Wierzbińska, PhD – Head of the Department of Psychology and Sociology of Management at the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw. She deals with statistical cross-cultural comparisons, cognitive and temperamental bases of motivation and individual differences in adaptation to change.

Frequency

Extramural, conventions (basically) twice a month. A detailed schedule of conventions is distributed to each group at the beginning of the studies.

Credits

Exams, presentations, case study analysis, quizzes, simulations, individual or group. Studies end with the defense of a consulting project as the final thesis.

Recruitment

Recruitment is based on:

1. registering the Candidate for Studies in the Internet Recruitment of Candidates system (hereinafter: IRK) and paying the recruitment fee of PLN 85;

2. qualification procedure conducted by:

• qualification of the documents submitted by the candidate for Studies attached in the IRK system:
• an application for admission to studies printed from the IRK system;
• a personal questionnaire;
• a photocopy of the diploma of completion of first-cycle studies;
• documents confirming five years of professional experience and three years of experience in a managerial position (completed professional experience in the application and submitted CV).
• passing the English language proficiency test or knowledge of this language at the B2 level documented by an FCE, TOEFL, IELTS certificate or a state exam; a diploma of higher education completed in English-speaking countries also exempts from the test;
• complete and pass an interview in English;

The recruitment process Artificial Intelligence for Executives (AI for Executives) may be entered by a candidate who meets all of the following conditions:

a. has at least a bachelor's, engineer's  or master's degree (or equivalent) in any field;

b. has a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including 3 years in managerial positions. Information about the experience should be included in the application form in the sections intended for this purpose.

Entry exams

The following admission criteria for "Artificial Intelligence for Executives" postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw are established:

1. passing the English language proficiency test (maximum 35 points to be obtained, passing threshold is 50% + 1 points) or knowledge of this language at the B2 level documented by an FCE, TOEFL, IELTS certificate or a state exam; a diploma of higher education completed in English-speaking countries also exempts from the test;

2. assessment of the interview in English (maximum 40 points, minimum 21 points);

Admission to studies takes place on the basis of the sum of the test score and the interview, while meeting the minimum threshold of test score.

The exam (test and interview) is conducted remotely using the KAMPUS and ZOOM platforms. Candidates for studies are required to ensure a stable Internet connection in order to conduct the exam. In the event of technical difficulties, the University of Warsaw provides assistance regarding the KAMPUS and ZOOM systems.

Based on the decision of the head of postgraduate studies, in justified cases, it is possible to set an individual date for a written test and an interview.

Required documents

Candidates submit the following documents:

• application for admission to studies - generated from the IRK system and signed;
• personal questionnaire - completed and generated from the IRK system;
• documents confirming five years of professional experience and three years of experience in a managerial position (completed professional experience in the application and submitted CV);
• the original or a certified copy of the diploma of graduation: master's diploma or bachelor's diploma or engineer's diploma or diploma issued abroad, in order to make a copy and certify its compliance with the original or a certified copy;
• documents confirming five years of professional experience and three years of experience in a managerial position (completed professional experience in the application and submitted CV).

If the candidate holds a higher education diploma obtained abroad: a sworn translation of the diploma into Polish, and if required: certification of the higher education diploma in the form of legalization or apostille, and if the higher education diploma is subject to the obligation of nostrification - a certificate about diploma recognition. Additional information is provided by the Dean's Office.

The documents should be delivered in person or by post to the International Management Center at the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw, at ul. Szturmowa 1/3, building C, room C-115, 02-678 Warsaw (the date of receipt at MCZ is decisive).

Registration deadline: from April 10, 2024 to  April 22, 2024.

Deadline for payment of the recruitment fee: by April 23, 2024.

Deadline for exams: from April 27, 2024 to April 29, 2024.

Deadline for announcement of results: April 30, 2024.
